"Our Military Family"

We pray on bended knee...........

The United States of America was officially born on July 4th, 1776 based on principles of freedoms, equality, and justice. These principles from our conception were envisioned through the eyes of Biblical principles. The men who signed the Declaration of Independence were overwhelmingly Christian in thought and deed. They found their courage in the Word of God and their relationship with Him.

Our war of independence was fought because the men of that time not only had principles, but were willing to fight and die for them too. Our nation today exists because of the dedication of most of its citizens to stand firm behind the founding principles of our nation found in the Declaration of Independence and the U. S. Constitution. The Constitution has clearly structured our government and protected our liberties for over 200 years.

It is clear too that the USA only exists as long as two things exist: The Constitution (with original intent) and those willing to protect it as the Supreme Law of the Land. The truth is that the land, though certainly important to our existence, does not make us the USA. In fact the land has changed over the centuries. The people, though also key because of customs and culture, do not make us the USA. If conquered the same people would still be here, but we would be ruled by what: a different set of rules and laws. Besides culture has changed quite a bit in 200 years. The Constitution, founded on Christian principles, and our willingness to support it keeps us who we are.

Naturally, we firmly believe that God has blessed this nation and is the true force behind our success as a nation. When I became part of the U. S. Army National Guard, I took an oath that all soldiers must take. That oath is to defend this nation and the Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic. This is why the U. S. Military is crucial and needs to be honored. Our relatives and millions of others have put on a uniform for the purpose of being the sword behind the words. Freedom is not free - but has to be protected at all times.

On the following page, there is a copy of Lincoln's Gettysburg Address. As I thought about this site and its purpose, I could think of no clearer way to say what we, as a nation, must remember. Lincoln's Gettysburg Address is also perfect for what this site is about. It is an appreciation for those who sacrificed yesterday, while remembering that there is a monumental task put before us to carry forth the torch lit so long ago.

Those who served must not have served or died in vain. We must do whatever is necessary today and beyond to "secure the blessings of liberty for ourselves and our posterity". The battle at Gettysburg also sheds light on us today, as well. During that great Civil War battle over 50,000 Americans died in three days fighting for the principles they believed in. This is important because in three days thousands died, while today some are unwilling to accept it when 600 are killed in one year. There are those who don't understand that these soldiers are securing freedom for millions and most importantly, making our nation more secure. We do not mean to imply that each death does not bring its own pain and suffering to the families of the soldier because, obviously, we know it has great significance to all affected.

The war we are facing today is, in my mind, clearly to preserve our way of life. As in past wars, the U. S. has had to fight on foreign soil to prevent attacks here at home. Our nation has been attacked many times by people that are fanatics - like the Nazis, Fascists, or Imperial Japanese. These people fought for world domination and the elimination of the USA. The terrorist and fundamental Islamists want no less than the fanatics of WWII. They want the U.S. (the Great Satan) to go away. These people only understand force. Our past relatives who served must not have served in vain only to have this generation to make us weak. We must bear the burden in this generation for we our no better than those who went before us.

We must prove ourselves worthy of the rights we did not earn, but were simply born to. As in the past, the war of today is fought to protect and spread the ideals and blessings of freedom, equality, and real justice. The consecration and dedication of our fathers cannot be taken for granted. If we forget the sacrifices of the past and lessons taught there... then we are doomed to the curse that would follow.

Finally, today just like yesterday, the people of this nation must stand firm behind the principles that those on this site stood for and served. We can not afford to be weak in the hour at hand. Our very future existence is at stake. We stand firmly behind our President and our soldiers who are waging a war on foreign soil. We also stand behind the families who, like ours, will be forever affected by their service. The current war is far from over because the enemy still is strong in numbers and strong in will. We pray God will bless our troops to victory over evil - and that good will prevail.
