In Loving Memory....

September 22 1928 - November 17, 2008

Prayer in honor of our Dad

Lord, God
You are attentive to the voices of our pleading.
Let us find in your Son, the comfort in our sadness,
certainty in our doubt,
and courage to live through this hour.
Make our faith strong through Christ our Lord.

Amen

Its not what we leave behind that matters, but what others say about our life.

What our dad left behind is the legacy of a devoted father and faithful husband, a man who served his Country with dignity and never took the credit for his service.  Dad was a strict and sometimes hard man, but he was an honest man, and loved God and his family, his country and his truck.  He is very missed and I am so very proud to have been his daughter.

In Daddy's Hands

I remember Daddy's hands
Folded silently in prayer
And reaching out to hold me
When I had a nightmare
You could read quite a story
In the callouses and lines
Years of work and worry
Had left their mark behind

I remember Daddy's hands
How they held my Mama tight
And patted my back
For something done right
There are things I've forgotten
That I loved about the man
But I'll always remember
The love in Daddy's hands

Daddy's hands
Were soft and kind when I was cryin'
Daddy's hands
Were hard as steel when I'd done wrong
Daddy's hands
Weren't always gentle but I'd come to understand
There was always love in Daddy's hands

I remember Daddy's hands
Working til they bled
Sacrificed unselfishly
Just to keep us all fed
If I could do things over
I'd live my life again
And never take for granted
The love in Daddy's hands

Daddy's hands
Were soft and kind when I was cryin'
Daddy's hands
Were hard as steel when I'd done wrong
Daddy's hands
Weren't always gentle but I'd come to understand
There was always love in Daddy's hands

Daddy's hands
Were soft and kind when I was cryin'
Daddy's hands
Were hard as steel when I'd done wrong
Daddy's hands
Weren't always gentle but I'd come to understand
There was always love
In Daddy's hands
