President George W. Bush Voted "Person of the year"!!!
A Prayer for our President
Heavenly Father, we thank You today, our one true God, for being the author of true liberty, freedom, and justice. We know that You have set Your laws and commandments before us, Father, and we praise You for the wisdom and the understanding You gave our Founding Fathers as they established the government of these United States.
We commit our nation to You, Lord, asking that You never move Your hand away from us. Please do not leave us to our own devices, but dwell with us always in the Spirit, that America may always be led by Your truths.
Father, please bless our President, George W Bush with far-reaching wisdom. He has asked for our prayers, Father, for he recognizes that You are the vine and he is a branch. He understands that You are the source of all wisdom. He acknowledges that he needs that which only You can provide. Because he is a new creation, we know that Christ has been made wisdom unto him. Therefore, we confidently place our President in Your arms, Father, and ask You to lovingly provide everything that he needs to do the job You have set before him. We praise You and thank You for this leader You have chosen for this time, and we ask You to make his testimonies and witness for You extend beyond the boundaries of America.
As President George W Bush visits other Nations, we ask You to place Your words of truth in him. Let others from all nations understand that he is a disciple of Jesus Christ. Father, we ask for protection and renewal for our soldiers. We pray for God-fearing men and women in our government and in the Iraqi government. We ask that You would bless the people of this nation with continuous reminders of Your presence.
Bless everyone, Father, who seeks to earn an honest living, and who lives a life that honors You. Please bless those who obey the laws of this nation as well as the laws and commandments You have set before us. For the strength of this nation lies solely in our relationship with You. Strengthen Your remnant, Father. Give us courage to persist in prayer and to continue to lift up our nation and its leaders to You. You are the only wellspring that can provide eternal life through the blood of Jesus Christ.
Thank You, Father, for the wonderful gift of salvation that You have offered to all of us. We praise You for Your faithfulness to us in our personal lives as well as in all the years of our nation’s existence. We pray Father, that in the coming years, America will grow ever closer to You and that souls from all parts of the world may know You through our collective testimony. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.

Ashley Faulkner Story
On September 11th, 2001 our nation suffered one of the most tragic events in our history. Even though it only happened just over three years ago, we still cannot hope to understand the impact it has had on our daily lives. Many images of that day, and the events afterward, will forever live in our minds. Some of them make us laugh, some make us cry, some make us realize how strong we are, and some make us reflect on how far we have come as a nation, and how far we still have to go. Today's Family First site is on that has frozen a moment in time, and reflect on those very thoughts.
Called Ashely's Story, this site is about a young girl whose mother was killed in the attack on the World Trade Center. The events of that day affected her terribly, and she had closed up emotionally. She now lives with her father in Ohio. Recently our President traveled through Lebanon, Ohio, and Ashley and her family went to see him (as she had with her mother 4 years earlier). A friend told him about Ashley, and he spent a few moments with her, and gave her a hug. It made Ashley feel that while he was the most powerful man in the world, he only wanted to make her feel safe. Her father summed it all up with his words "What I saw was what I want to see in the heart and in the soul of the man who sits in the highest-elected office in our country."
So much is conveyed in this story. Many reviews are calling this one of the most impressive and powerful messages to surface in this election year. Stop over at this site, and be prepared to have your emotions run through the ringer. Mine was.
